"I'll be back soon" says Derrick Rose - NBA Update
On Tuesday night, Chicago Bulls superstar Derrick Rose missed his 3rd straight game due to his recent back spasms and with that, his tally of missed games this season reached 8.
However, Rose is not too bothered about it and said he would be making a comeback soon.
"I shouldn't have any problem in the long run," Rose said. "This back pain should be behind me in a couple of days. I should be back out there soon."
Rose visited a specialist on Monday for an MRI and fortunately for him and the team, the reports came out normal. However, he did not take part in the Bulls recent scrimmage against the Sacramento Kings, to give himself further
rest.
According to him, he would be visiting the same specialist again tonight to see his progress and would also be starting light exercise, to get back in shape. There is still some stiffness in his back and Rose can still feel it.
"It's just tight where you can't move," Rose said. "When you move, the tightness turns to pain."
Bulls coach, Tom Thibodeau, is worried with his sharpshooter’s injury and added Rose is being monitored carefully. Like Rose, he too is hopeful for his best player’s return soon.
"What we've been told from the start of this is he's day-to-day," coach Tom
said. "We'll continue to get information, study it and make a good decision. We just want to make sure he's good."
23 year old Rose has a reputation of being physically fit. Before this season, He had only missed 5-6 games in his three years career, so these injuries have definitely tainted his outstanding record quite significantly.
What is good for him and his team is that despite the injuries, he has not lost his form. He is averaging 22 points and 7.8 assists at the moment and that average is definitely going to rise if he plays more games.
Rose is without an ambiguity the best player in the team and his absence has already cost the Bulls few important games. Bulls lost both the games on their 9 games road trip last week in which Rose did not take part. There are
other mighty talented players in the lineup too, but none are blessed with the talent that he possesses.
So, Bulls like Rose too would be hoping, he recovers soon.
