Did he really say that, or is it like a political legend?

  1. Dan Quayle is a really nice guy that  said a lot of really strange things.

  2. Hes said many jaw droppingly stupid things.

I tend to forgive politicians what they say when the say so many words at a time, far more than most people do in a lifetime.

But Quayle had a penchant for not only sticking his foot in his mouth, but insisting it belonged there.

Judging from what he did after he left office, he was brought on the ticket to give the ladies someone to vote for, men thought that way back then.

Hes also famous for misspelling "potatoe" (sic) and making a boy feel bad on national TV while doing it.

Fortunately the child spelled in right in the first place and has probably been a lifelong Democrat since.

He also attempted to castigate Murphy Brown, a TV character, for having a TV baby our of wedlock...the imaginary character was over forty at the time, we aren't talking teen mom here.

Like I said, peoples jaws dropped and even in the arena of VPs Quayle will live on as one of the dumbest.

His wife was smart though, she had the brains in the family.

    All of them.

  3. Sounds like Obamas 57 states remark.

  4. he said that as a joke
