"I am going to bring intensity and energy to the team," says Dwayne Smith – Cricket News Update
West Indies all-round cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in this month’s 2-match
T20 series, set to kick off on September 23, in London.
Since the player’s exclusion from the limited overs squad in 2010, Smith revealed that he has been working quite considerably on his game, and is all set to bring intensity and energy to the team. The all-rounder also cited that having another major opportunity
to play for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 again, comes as a big chance for him and will not let it go to waste.
As a modest cricketer, Smith premiered his T20 career in 2006 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, where the player failed to offer much with the bat, but managed to secure two wickets from 3 overs.
Since his limited format debut, Smith has played 8 T20 matches, out of which has scored 73 runs with the bat, while 7 wickets, as a medium pacer.
As for now, Smith believes that he has groomed into a better cricketer since his last T20 game against the Zimbabwean tourists in 2010.
“I worked very hard on my batting. I realised I have to be more patient and aim to hit straighter,” said Gayle. “This new way of thinking has been working for me. The coaches have asked for commitment and I intend to put in the work required to reap success
at the international level.”
Smith also revealed that his recent participation for the English county team, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852, has also aided him into overhauling his playing abilities especially after the recent Friends Life T20 tournament which will give the player a better understanding of
the English ground conditions.
“I actually got the chance to play at The Oval a few times, so I am familiar with the conditions and will be able to share that information with the other guys in the team”, said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Smith-c90598.
West Indies will be playing against the English hosts on September 23, in the opening match, followed by the second and final one on September 25. Both matches will be held at the Kennington, Oval in London.
