"I am not worried" says http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 Manager Andre Villa-Boas following critical speculation
Andre Villas-Boas denies speculation that he is worried about getting the sack from Chelsea boss Abramovich following a downhill run involving three losses in the club’s previous four games.
While critics have jumped to conclude that the £13 Million Coach will be getting the sack in the near future, supporters and officials of the club have denied any such thoughts.
"I'm not worried by the comments. I want to get my team winning. We'll try and do that against Leverkusen,” said the Chelsea Manager, during a press conference.
Chelsea face Bayer Leverkusen today in a Champions League tie which promises to be a rather exciting encounter, with both teams fighting for a place in the final 16. Chelsea have 8 points from their four Champions league matches and are top of their group,
followed closely behind by Leverkusen, who are at 6 points.
Leverkusen boss Robin Dutt believes Villas-Boas has what it takes to make Chelsea the force they once were; “He has achieved quite a lot with Porto.”
"And, if Chelsea pay around £13m for a coach, they must consider it worth it. He's well respected, has made a good reputation, and his quality is there to see. He'll do well at Chelsea."
Competition for the top two places also comes from Valencia, who are one of the favourites to make it through to the next round from Group E and will be facing new-comers Genk tonight.
If Chelsea manage to win today, it could ensure Villa-Boas’ survival at the club, but if they lose, it could make his future at the club bleak and grey as the London sky on a winter morning. Former Chelsea captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Ballack-c25270, now playing for Leverkusen,
trusts Chelsea to be a tough competition.
Ballack said: "Chelsea are under pressure. This is a crucial game. We have won our home games against Genk and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 but we will need to be in top shape."
The Blues star-midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Florent-Malouda-c13838, however, remains positive: "We don't feel good when we don't win games: we're a team that's used to winning recently.
"We know how to get back there because we've been there in the past.
"We just want to win and then all the comments will be very positive and we'll become 'the best team in the world'."
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904, which inspires further speculation regarding his future at the club. Young striker Lukaku is ineligible to be playing in the Champions League and Essien will not be playing following a long-term injury.
Chelsea’s recent slump in form could be attributed to a lack of confidence in the side, following their loss to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Glen-Johnson-c15050 three minutes before time reduced Chelsea to a 1-2 defeat at Stamford
Bridge.
