"I don't think it's going to be the best market to be (buyer) in," says White Sox GM Rick Hahn
The Chicago White Sox general manager Rick Hahn is currently busy shopping for players and dealing with all sorts of contract issues of existing players.
His foremost duty is bring some good and vital players in the franchise after a poor 2012 Major League Baseball season.
The White Sox did not perform well in the recent past season where they could not even qualify into the playoffs and remained too short with amount of winnings they needed to advance into the post-season.
They newly installed franchise’s GM Hahn knows various aspects which are on his priority list while he also knows which player is currently is an asset for the team and which player is just a liability.
Though the White Sox has not made any trade dealing with other Major League teams, but it is expected that Hahn is likely send some players in exchange of good pitchers.
After Mark Buehrle’s signing with the Miami Marlins, the White Sox are in serious need of a good starter which will probably carry forward the Chicago's thrust into new beginning.
According to a recent press conference, Hahn’s viewpoints regarding White Sox’s future, shows how critical he is thinking at the moment and how he is seeing his franchise in the next season onwards.
"I don't think it's going to be the best market to be (buyer) in. But there are a few targeted guys we do like, including our own," Hahn said.
Hahn added on pitching depth as well the importance of Pierzynski, “It’s nice to be able to insulate and not rush that, We always prefer to have more depth than less with pitching, But if it takes until December or January, as it did in the ’04 winter when we signed [Tadahito] Iguchi and Pierzynski, so be it.”
Hahn also said on Kevin Youkilis, “This is the first time Kevin has had a chance to be out on the open market, and he wants to explore what’s out there.”
Experts believe that this is good sign as Hahn is taking much interest to rebuild the entire strategy which is very important for them in the next season.
