"I dont have SSN - case reported to collection agency..what are the problems I can face?

"No SSN - case reported to collection agency..what are the problems I can face..no credit history yet because of no SSN"

What problem can I expect if the case is reported to collection agency. I have no ssn as I am on a dependent visa. The hospital bill was large so not in a position to pay. I have no credit history so my credit history cannot be spoiled. But I expect to get a SSN after a few months when i start to work as I am studying now. Any advice what would happen with these collection agencies now, will it affect my long term plans....but it cannot be reported to my SSN as I dont have it .....so there is no question of credit history going bad.

since you are here on a dependent visa i wonder how this will effect your staying in this country!!!  you might be going back to your country!!!

i hope you pay off your hospital bill since you incurred the hospital expense.  as a tax payer, i don't want to have to pay for your bill.  i'm tired of having a 1/3 of my pay check go towards paying for bills from other people whom i don't even know.  i work monday through friday, so on monday and more than half of tuesday, i work to pay for someone else's bills.  ughhhh!
