Boat was running fine in the ocean. I noticed it when coming into the intracoastal after about an hour. How much can something like this cost to fix.?"I have a 20005 Bayliner276 I/O when in the intracoastal I noticed after about an hour into my trip a loud hollow noise. It increases If i give the boat more thrust it gets louder and the boat may not go as fast. Maybe I went through some debris I looked at the prop from above the water with the trim up after I docked and noticed all the blades looked all right from the prop what can this be?" in Yahoo! 1. With the given information,  I would have to say that it is the Gimbal Bearing at the top of the drive.  Realize that is just an educated guess with the information that you gave.  It really isn't expensive to fix and your Mercury may still be under warranty if it is within the 3 year mark.   I Hope this answers your question.

  2. One mans woosh is another mans swish, it is very difficult to say what the problem could be without hearing it in person, the best advise I could give is take it to a repair facility were they can give you a correct diagnosis.

  3. Sheared prop pin, possibly after running across sandbar.
