As Salaam to you all,

Firstly Wahhabism has been coined as a sect of Islam, from the work of Shaykh Muhammad Ibn 'Abd Al Wahhab, which is totally incorrect.

There is no sect called Wahhabism, however, what he tried to do was to put the ideals of Islam forward from the facts of the Prophet (pbuh) and the Companions (Salif) (may Allah (SWT) be pleased with them all.) and the Glorious Quran before the death of the Prophet (pbuh).

Most secular ideology started just after the Prophet (pbuh)'s death and Biddah was introduced, which brought through time the 73 sects of Islam.

Therefore, the followers of Shaykh Abd al Wahhab are in actual fact Salif.

I for one am not an Ahmadi, Salif, Shia, Sufi or even Sunni as practiced today by most Muslim's. However, I am a Muslim who has studied the Glorious Qur'an and the Shari'ah Law, who is attempting to follow the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh) and the ways that have been set for us by Allah (SWT).

Wahabis exist under many names - salafis, ahlul hadith, phrases having the word "tawheed". The try to make people think they are normal sunnis but they are not - they are an evil cult here to infiltrate Islam.
