"It was a tough game," says New York Yankees’ pitcher Andy Pettitte for Game 2 of ALDS

New York Yankees starting pitcher Andy Pettitte called the second game of their American League Divisional Series tough as despite performing well could not save the game for his team. The series between the Yankees and Baltimore Orioles is even now with both teams winning one game apiece.
Pettitte pitched well for the Yankees on Monday at Oriole Park in Baltimore but eventually he ended up on the losing side.
He pitched seven solid innings and received three runs on seven hits with great accuracy. The Orioles, who played offensively, did not let him settle on the mound.
“It was a tough game, Obviously the game came down to, I made a mistake to Davis that scored the two runs. I left him a ball right in the middle of the zone, and that was a serious mistake by me in that situation. That pretty much cost us the game," Pettitte said after the game as he explained about his performance and especially about the level of performance both teams showed during the entire game.
Later team skipper Derek Jeter also commented in the media about the performance and the chances ahead their team has as he said, "You're in the playoffs; there's going to be good pitching, We hope to get hits every time there's runners in scoring position, but that's not the case. Those guys have jobs to do, and they're in the position they're in now because they have great pitching."
On the other hand, Pettitte, who most of the season, has been on disabled list due to couple of injuries, played really well and showed his offensive game.
His 2012 Major League Baseball season has certainly hit badly due to these injuries but he still managed to maintain some momentum. Currently his stats are standing consistent with 2.87 ERA along with 5-4 win-loss, 69 strike-outs and 1.14 WHIP.
Overall his 16-year career also suggests that he certainly has performed with great energy. His career 3.86 ERA along with 245-142 win-loss, 2320 strike-outs and 1.35 WHIP also makes him a good role player in the Yankees’ roster.
