Beneath the stars

and glistening moon

through shadow clouds

I dreamed of you,

and by gone days

of sacred vows

exchanged by candle light.

we knew not then,

of strife and error

between two, brought on

by self, or life's

external humanness,

of survival difficulties

and growing change

of personalites, not vows.

For better or worse

through out detours

we traveled miles

in length of years,

with keepsake vows

love and loyalty,

for all that wasn't

for all that was

we thanked

our lucky stars above,

for keepsake vows.

  1. A lovely look at life and vows, the vows of life.  I like the first and last stanzas. Stanza 2's last five lines to me did not flow as well.  Overall, very nice.

  2. There is no I might in I do.

  3. A beautiful view of marriage and connection. Thank you for this window into the soul, into an event and time not yet experienced. Now I grow ever more impatient.

  4. Truly, I vow you did well.
