My friend's son just deployed. She got an email from him that he was in a section called "Little Korea" and was wondering what/where that is. Is there a zone in Iraq that the military calls Little Iraq?

  5. All that this means is that the location he's presently in right now can be compared to that of Korea...probably like the 2ID area north of Seoul.

You won't get a direct answer as to where "little Korea" is located in Iraq.  That's a violation of operational security (OPSEC).  I never told my mom where I was in Iraq...just that I was somewhere near the Tigris and Euphrates.  My step-dad figured it out...of course...because he was in Desert Storm...and told her that I was somewhere in Baghdad.  So...everytime my mom watched the news, of course a lot of things were happening in or around Baghdad...so she'd freak out.

It's best if you didn't know...just because of that.
