Put each of the following syllogisms into standard form, name its mood and figure, and test its validity by means of a Venn diagram.

1. No people whose primary interest is in winning elections are true liberals, and all active politicians are people whose primary interest is in winning elections, which entails that no true liberals are active politicans.

  1. I'll help you a bit. Disjunctive iirc

    Circle 1- primary interest is winning election

    Circle2- true liberals (doesn't intersect Circle 1)

    Circle3- Active politicians (entirely within circle 1)

    Since Circle 2 can't intersect Circle 3, it is proven

    (Of course, the assumptions or "givens" aren't true, but that's not the exercise, is it?) Both statements for circle 1 and 2 are false, especially the second one.
