"My Yahoo" content keeps disappearing?

Question

Is anyone else having the same problem? It's been going on for the past several weeks or maybe a month now. I have headlines added to "My Yahoo" like People.com and Dear Abby but every time I go to see what the top headline news are on these websites, all it says is "No items shown in the past (insert number here) days. It does this evey single day. It keeps reappearing and disappearing. Anyone else experiencing the same?

The stability of the "My Yahoo!" page has been in constant flux for years – though I agree that problems have seemed to increase a bit lately.  I've had the exact same problem you describe with the Slashdot RSS feed on my own page, and my "Notepad" module only just started working correctly again within the past couple of days.  If I had to guess, I'd say that there may have been some changes in staffing at the Yahoo! programming shop... and of course, no two programmers ever do things quite the same.  This natural difference in methodologies can often result in older modules being left to stagnate for extended periods of time, while newer (entirely incompatible) modules are generated.  Once someone does choose to go back and work on an older module, they're sometimes just as likely to generate new bugs as they are fixes to those components.  Unfortunately, because of the many-many permutations in the ways in which people might use any given module, the programmer almost never finds all of the bugs themselves.  (And yes; I speak as an experienced programmer who has personally seen -- and caused -- these very issues in the past.)
