How does this statement stand true, when:

1. an adolescent attains a height of an adult (their bones do grow, muscles as well.. but what about NERVE CELLS??)

2. after a surgery, other cells re-grow to their normal places..

Again, How can NERVE CELLS grow then??

  1. okay what every book will say is that nerve cells don't multiply itself -binary fission- but they're studying it right now cause there could be evidence that they might be able to. so just hold on to that question cause they're working on it

  2. Nerve cells are terminally differentiated.  They never divide again.

However, there are populations of neuronal stem cells that can replace damaged cells and repair tissue.  They aren't nerves until needed.

  3. correction. nerve cells dont reproduce.

    make it a good day.
