Any advantages and disadvantages about "player" cue?

If I want to buy a cue stick, which brand would you like to recommend? Price must be lower than $70.

  1. You need to spend just a little more for a drastically better stick.  For a hundred bucks you can find a good stick either at a pool hall, or maybe on ebay.  Stick to one of these brands  Meucci, McDermott, Huebler, Joss, Gilbert, Bouska, Tim Scruggs, or Bloodworth.  I cannot stress the difference between these cues that i told you that you can buy for a hundred and what you can find for 70 is like night and day.  You will hate any70 dollar cue you find one im talking about and you will like it your entire pool playing career.

  2. A Players sneaky pete is great at about $35 wholesale ($70 retail, but if you get in with a pool room owner he'll probably cut you a deal)...Johnny can confirm (except his is a jump/break cue-- a little more expensive)...No disadvantages that I know of...cheap and good.

Which one of you losers gave me and Johnny thumbs-down? If he wanted a cue for a $100, I think perhaps that's the number he would've given. Read the question. I know a lot of people that win money with Players sneaky petes, people who are used to playing with Schons and Meuccis, etc. If it 'must' be lower than $70, that's the cue (new). You can also hang out in the pool room and wait for someone to need to sell a cue that's original retail was $150 or so. Good luck.

  3. There is a brand of cue called Players, which is what many people are talking about when you here player's cue. They are decent but not great. I do not recommend them.

A 'players' cue is usually a plane looking, high quality cue you'd get from a custom cuemaker. They are somewhat expensive (usually $350-500 depending on the cuemaker) but represent the best playing cue you can obtain without all the frills of a $1000+ cue.

  4. Ladies First Lea got it  J/B with a LePro tip or a pre dot meucci shaft but that shaft aint under $70

      Hey Kid                        Later Johnny

Lea is right bout $55 retail-Shaft $200 if you can find one
