Question:

"Pool toe" help?

I have been in and out of the pool for hours at a time everyday this week. The skin on the bottom of my toes has grown weak and thin. The skin is starting to peel, but there's not going to be any skin left under that to heal it. Any suggestions on how to put less stress on it? It hurts pretty badly. And I have 4 hours of swimming/diving madatory today.

  1. That sounds much more serious than what might ordinarily be 'pool toe'.  Without examining your defective digit, I would hazard a guess that you've picked up a fungal infection and that is causing the skin to chafe away.  Better make an appointment to see your Doctor asap.  This most likely needs a prescription strength anti-fungal treatment.

  2. Get those seasonal things at the supermarket, watermocs.  They are cheap and do work to allow your toe to heal.
