"Power of our example, not an example of our power."?

Is this more rhetoric or do you support this generalization? What kind of example do you think this country would show with Obama in office?

You mean like Bill's Example of Power when he was in the oval office with a young intern.  Or his example of power by pardoning convicted felons that were his friends.  You lead by example, and one of those examples is to project power to garner peace, not project weakness and hope for peace.

The world HATES America now.  He proved he is just another TYRANT as bad as Saddam Hussein and Hitler, and you may act indignant all you like but that is how the world sees him as some crazy gun slinging anti-christ who wants to cause Armegaddon and frankly THEY WILL cause he's insane.  He lied to the people, started an unnecessary war, disregarded the UN, asserted his "power" (think about this phrase NOW!!!!).  

Their administration FINALLY controlled both government and senate and destroyed America and threw much of the world into CHAOS and you want MORE? This election is about credibility and survival and you people better wise up and do it fast.

You really ARE insane to think this way!!!

He's destroyed all credibility and trust in America and you people have the worse lifestyle in the civilized world with half your young men and women sacrificed for WHAT??  Ugh....that's enough of that nonsense!!!

Remember, it's OBAMA running for president here...despite whomever else speaks on his behalf and how good or poor a job they did.  Give THIS man some credit.

I think neither really. He would appease bad people and try "diplomacy" as they like to call it until it was too late and someone was hurt; therefore, not exercising our power. He would setup tons of social welfare type programs and raise taxes; therefore leading by a poor example.

The way the world works, requires both. At times we can show by our successes, and deeds how a free society operates and the beneficial nature of this type of system even considering the military and financial power we can exert on the world economies, and territories.But as in any governing system, there are times when other nations want to challenge our resolve and a show of our military might is necessary to open their eyes to reality.We cannot be perceived as weak.My concern with Obama is that he has already been willing to negotiate and allow no direct action to be taken while we beg our enemy to not be mean.I believe he will create a new power, the power of Pleading .

Rhetoric. This coming from a guy who unleashed our power on Haiti and Bosnia to distract from his example in the Oval Office. Yeah, Clinton's a great one to talk about the power of example.

Now me? I liked his comment about how the democrats want to solve the gap in income by taxing the rich. Floored me. They want to solve the gap in income by taking money away from the most successful in this country. No 'for the common good'. No 'higher purpose'. Says nothing more than the rich have too much and we're going to take it as justification for their actions. And without even a thank you. Amazing. Simply amazing. The only ones who will prosper under a democratic regime are those who lack the initiative to be self sufficient. Brilliant.

It is a bit of rhetoric, but it's what a country should strive for. The general words behind it is that we as a nation should be inspiring the word, not be its bully. No matter the realities that fall in between an idea and its execution, I fail to see how this statement can be anything less than something our country should seek to live up to.
