Hey all, in a pet store close to me they have what is displayed as a white lobster, it is probably around 2 inches big, and looks similar to a small lobster. it is advertised as a "rare" white lobster, for $50. I can't find anything about anything like this on google or anything, and wanted to know if it is something else under a different name, and what it's care requirements might be? Thanks!

  1.  It is a really really rare lobster, white lobsters are in fact, only one in 100 million. I can't imagine a pet store even selling one let alone for $50... If one is caught it is sent to aquariums to be admired. Research it and check it out, the blue lobsters are also really really rare and are one in a million, yellow lobsters are one in 30 million. They are genetic defects that cause them to produce too much protein. I reccomend you check it out on the net, and chances are, that lobster won't be legit :/

  2. Yes, they are very rare.  I have had a few batches of Electric Blue Lobsters, and the last two had one pure white lobsters in the batch.  I previously saw some at a pet store for $60. Wish I could show you a pic of her.
