If there is a sexist wage gap, why don't I see adverts like this all the time?

In case you've never noticed, it's considered rude to discuss your annual salary with coworkers; so a lot of people don't realize they're being paid less, or that Charlie got a raise but Sally didn't.

No because that's illegal and employers know it. You don't seem to fully grasp the subtlety of the wage gap. For example, a male and female candidate apply for the statistician job right out of school and neither have experience. The man will get hired on as a junior or maybe even an intern. The woman will be offered an admin or support position so she can work in the industry until an entry level job opens up. You may not want to face the truth but it happens all the time.
