"TONNAGE" of Air conditoning required to cool an electric Sub-station of 36 x 25 x 8.5 meters?

Kindly tell me the rough eatimate of Air Conditioning required to cool an electric substation of size 36 x 25 x 8.5 meters. Ambient temperature is 50 degree C. Heat load of electric equipment is nearly 20 kW.

  1. a substation of 3x4x8 displacer cooling AC to cool at 49.6 degrees. Increase the load electric equipment by 21 to suffice a 5x6x7 AC


  2. It's the 20kW that is the problem.That translated to 70 BTU/hour

    One ton/hour of capacity equals 12,000 Btu/h so you need 6 ton/hour capacity.

    That is just to counter the 20 kW load. You have to add to that for the heat load from the outside, but that depends on location, windows, insulation, sun angle, etc. At a guess, I'd double it to 12 ton/hour.
