I just got a LG CU515 (Cingular) and i only have like 100 sent/received messages. And it's telling me the message box is full? The old phone I've had could hold 8k messages without saying its full, and this can only hold 200? There's definitely something wrong. Anyone know how to fix this?

  1. no its just the phone. just start deleting ones you don't need. why do you need to keep all your past text messages??

  2. I had a phone once that would only hold 100 messages, and my phone i had before that one held hundreds. I thought there was initially something wrong with my phone as it was a big upgrade from my previous phone, but it turned out that they had designated the memory to other things rather than storing heaps of messages.

I know this doesn't really help, but might just be a heads up if this is the problem. I spent ages trying to find how to increase the storage amount and there just wasn't a way. Hope you can find a way tho for your sake, I hated having to always go through and delete my messages :(

  3. Some phones don't hold a lot of messages I had an LG once and I had to delete messages a lot, but then I got a Nokia that holds well over 1,000 before I think about deleting them all at once.

Did your phone come with a memory card, or does it have to bought separately?

Do you have a lot of other stuff on your phone (music, ring tones, pics, etc.)?

How many characters/large are your messages?

These are a few things that I think can impact how many messages your phone can hold.

    Hope this helps!
