  1. Only in a parallel universe....

  2. Could you explain what's behind your question?

I don't see the point and the oddness is terse unless it's a purely factual query to clarify some confusion. Please qualify.

  3. He apparently did say "for a man" according to NASA.  They claim it was distorted in transmission.  He wasn't involved in the international space station.  There was a joint spacewalk about 7 years later but there was no cooperation at that time between the US and the Soviets.

  4. he said it when he stepped onto the moon...the first human to do so... there was no international space station at the time he said it. in fact there was no international cooperation at all in space. it was actually called the space race at that point in time..

  5. July 1969, Giant Leap Statement made by Armstrong

November 1998, launch of first ISS module

It would seem therefore that the probability of Armstrong being involved in the ISS in 1969 is low.

  6. The quote is "That's one small step for a man; one giant leap for mankind."

NASA has reviewed the tape and that's the quote.

Armstrong once remarked to Arthur C. Clarke: "That's what I meant to say and that's what I said."

  7. Boy! Only one person actually answered your question, so I'll second that.

He said this as he stepped off the ship that took him to the moon; he was the first human to set foot on the moon (and the film was shot from the ship -- in answer to the skeptics).

There wasn't  an international space station, or any space station then.

And, yes, the US "won" the "race to the moon" (in reaction to the Soviets being the first to put something into orbit around Earth, Sputnik).

Kennedy called for our landing on the moon before the decade of the 60s was gone when he was elected President.

  8. by the way if neil was the first man on the moon, who the h**l was filming that????
