"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair?

I know that Ric Flair got his nickname "Nature Boy" off Buddy Rogers, but why do they call themselves Nature Boy? Or what does Nature Boy mean? I have always wondered about this...

Ric Flair used to be a bit like tarzan and enjoy his time in the jungle, but instead of "ooooooooo" it was "WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"

Nature Boy is a common nickname in professional wrestling. There was also Nature Boy Buddy Landel and Nature Boy Roger Kirby. I've never attached any more meaning to that nickname than to any other.
