"The War on Terror"?

The War on "Terror" is crazy. The word terror is a feeling, like a reaction. It cannot be won. Why do the media and The President, Himself, use the word, terror, instead of Terriosts or Terrorism? Using the word terror in the sentence alone, is poor grammar.

"The War on Terror" is absoultely stupid. I understand going into a country and helping out with food, medical care, and education but to bomb a country cuz they started it is dumb.

If you spend money to fight it and alter your lifestyle because of.. then we do in fact live in a state of terror.. making all our preporation useless..... because the terrorists already won.

Uhh maybe because of the 'Terror' America experienced on 9/11/01 or did we forget about all that already?

I know, it is crazy.  It is like saying "the war on hatred."  How can you fight an emotion with military presence?   As long as there is hatred, there will be terror.  And hatred will always exist, so there is no "winning" this war.

You are right. The war is against those who use terror to accomplish their goals. Terrorists create the emotion, terror, primarily in the citizens of a country rather than those in the armed forces. Nevertheless, you are correct. It's like saying, we are going to war on hate or the war on despair.
