Is the truth always justified?, ie: are "white lies" still half truths? When is it alright to lie? Or should the truth always be known regardless?

  1. Truth is sort of relative in many situations.

    "I did not have s*x with that woman" - W J Clinton.

(if oral s*x is technically not s*x)

  2. There are truths and non-truths.  There is individual truth and collective truth. What one person sees as a truth, another sees as a non-truth. It's all to do with perception. Each truth is half truth and half non-truth. Each non-truth is half non- truth and half truth.

In order to get closer to the collective truth and non-truth, each individual must first discover his own truths and non-truths. An individual truth or non-truth can only be discovered when a person knows themselves beyond how others may see them.

  3. Seems like before i spoke the truth about what ever i wouldn't mind hearing the intentions of the reciever of this truth.

  4. OH YES there is something more important than what is TRUE

GOOD is far far more important

Truth is for us humans only but Quality, what is Good is bigger than just humanity - it works for the entire universe which was evolving along a good path long long before life even became possible

Good pathed the way for the existence of all life at a time when truth meant nothing.

~~ Quality beats Truth ~~Quality is the most important thing there is.

there's alot of things that could be said about the nature of truth - importantly your personal take on it should be shared though. if the truth cannot be used to say something good - nothing should be said.

White lies are really S****y they come form people being superior - If you know the truth and can handle it - another person can handle it too - they don't need protecting. in your short term effort to help, you may do lasting damage to your relationship with that person. or if they are a child and you are the parent lasting damage to their ability to trust overall...children become adults one day and they remember.

no lie is acceptable, we can handle the truth!

  5. "Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth."

    Buddha

  6. I think its not advisable to tell lies, because they will catch up with you in the future.

White lies will always remain lies and its better to tell the Truth regardless and therefore known if possible.

    Thanks for asking Dear

  7. The truth is a perception, or one's interpretation of reality and therefore may or may not match the truth as perceived by another on an identical and simultaneous occurrence. What we perceive as truth is indeed flawed by our ability to remember, observe, and discount emotion. Is the truth ever the truth, it could depend on the level of self righteous indignation and justification you can achieve as the accused, whether or not your peers share your perception of the truth.

  8. I really don't want to know when I'm gonna die.

  9. The truth is always the best. People who lie always get caught out in some way or another. Plus, small liars always lead into bigger liars true? From my experience anyway.

  10. G The truth is that those questions were dusty 2000 years ago.

  11. The level of truth depends on the listener.  Everything I tell my friends is true, but I don't tell them everything. Therefore, I'm technically lying to them. I tell my wife everything and I always tell her the truth, even though she doesn't believe me sometimes.  I tell my daughter almost all the truths about me.  The only thing I've knowingly kept from her is the fact that her grandmother's death was a suicide. I told her she died in a car wreck, which was a total lie only to protect my mother.

Yes, there are times when a white lie is the best truth. The truth should never be told if it will cause harm to someone.  There's no real point in that.  It's best not to say anything or if you have to, tell as little as you can without giving yourself away.

  12. Ultimate truth is enlightenment, but here on the ground the truth depends on our point of view. This is not real truth but it is subjective truth. This is the truth of our existence, that we can only accept a certain level of reality and going beyond that we either disbelieve or do not understand.

That being so, we are all lying to ourselves and to others to a degree in everything we do or say.

I dislike any kind of intentional deceit because it erodes trust.

  13. who cares? knowing a lie or the truth doesn't stop the universe, world or anyone else, it is only you who cares about it.
