The Special One has taken out time to heap 'special' praise over his players, while stressing that footballers are not normal humans.
Real Madrid head coach, Jose Mourinho, expressed that one has to acknowledge the amount of sacrifice a footballer puts into his performance day in and day out.
While giving an interview to Los Blancos official website, the Special One shed light at the fact that athletes have to remain under a great deal of stress. He added that the pressure upon footballers is immense and they have to constantly deal with it.
Additionally, Mourinho maintained that playing for a team like Real Madrid puts players under a great deal of pressure. He stressed that players are aware of the fact that they have to work hard in order to make their contribution for the benefit of the
team.
The Only One exclaimed that the current season started with a majority players burnt out and tired. He pointed at the fact that most members of his squad were busy on international duty during the Euro 2012.
Mourinho complained that there was no vacation given to players and that the pre-season is also something that can be quite trying at the moment.
While talking to reporters, Mourinho quoted:
“These human beings are special. They’re under a great deal of pressure and I, as their coach, prefer that those who criticise me no matter what do so for being a bit aggressive in my statements, for seeking and pulling out the players’ hidden pride. We
became league champions, in a record season last term.”
“Five or six players winning the Euro, other three, four, five or six making it to the semi-finals, which is also an attainment. Very short vacation. A very short pre-season. I think that this season started out in a rather inhumane manner. And still they
continue to perform.”
