  1. 70% position.  Not a full time position.  It is a good way to "get into" a district, but you probably will not get full benfits.

  2. .7 means 7 tenths of a regular teaching positions. Multiply the hours a full time teacher in working by .7 to see how many hours you will be expected to teach. It is more than 1/2 time, so most likely you will get the perks like health insurance, etc.

  3. in my school, middle school, it means you teach 3 and a half classes.  3 classes everyday and 1 class every other day.  this is part time the rest of the school works 5 periods a day.

  4. 70% of the work load of a teacher

    u should get benefits

problems- are u expect to be at school for the other 30 and is yr free time lumped together? often u get overloaded by admin without realizing it.

  5. I think most likely it is 70% time, not full time.  That other positions are not listed as "1.0" sort of makes it hard to figure out!

  6. It's not a full-time job.  It's a little more than half-time.

  7. It means that it is 70% of a regular full time job.  Meaning you are required to work 70% of the week....it's also 70% of the pay, benefits etc...  If you aren't able to find a teaching job, it would be wise to take something, but usually teachers who take these jobs still work just as many hours as they would if they had a full time job...with full pay, benefits, etc...
