"This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like maner as you saw him go into...?

...as you saw him go into heaven." Since the clouds hid Jesus from the view of those standing there watching him go up into heaven, (only his disciples were present to see it - no unbelievers) shouldn't we arrive at the conclusion that only his TRUE worshipers would also be the ones to see him today when he returns, and that his return will be invisible? To answer, site verses taken from the bible please.

  1. yes, and he has already returned in 1914

  2. Seeing as Jesus is coming back for His church I do not see any reason why the world would be brought into it.

A couple of passages on the second coming of Christ:

    1 Corinthians 15:51-54

    1 Thessalonians 4:13-17

  3. Revelation 1:7

Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen.

  4. Just remember, the Lord Jesus was NOT received into a UFO.

At His Second Coming, everyone will see Him.  "For as the lightening shines from the East to the West, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be."

  5. Rev 1:7   Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven. And everyone will see him-even those who pierced him. And all the nations of the earth will weep because of him. Yes! Amen!

  6. why should we cite verses from the bible scince i agree with one of the answers that drew the conclusion that you could be a jehovahs witness

and if that were to be true, your faith hold to the belief that christendom and it's bible are false. even though your "experts" at the watchtower society, will tell everyone that they have the only true translation of greek and hebrew text.

many of the verses you need were given by other answers here in this forum to read, oh i forgot, we read a pagan bible.

i have looked deply into various aspects of the jehovahs witness sect.

  7. You're reading a lot into that passage.

Zechariah 14 explains that Jesus will return to the Mount of Olives.

Zec 14:2  And I will gather all nations to Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken, and the houses shall be rifled, and the women shall be defiled: and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the rest of the people shall not be taken away out of the city.

Zec 14:3  Then the Lord shall go forth, and shall fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

Zec 14:4  And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is over against Jerusalem towards the east: and the mount of Olives shall be divided in the midst thereof to the east, and to the west with a very great opening, and half of the mountain shall be separated to the north, and half thereof to the south.

Zec 14:5  And you shall flee to the valley of those mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall be joined even to the next, and you shall flee as you fled from the face of the earthquake in the days of Ozias king of Juda: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with him.

Matthew says all the tribes of the earth will see him:

Mat 24:27  For as lightning cometh out of the east and appeareth even into the west: so shall also the cowling of the Son of man be.

Mat 24:28  Wheresoever the body shall be, there shall the eagles also be gathered together.

Mat 24:29  And immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light and the stars shall fall from heaven and the powers of heaven shall be moved.

Mat 24:30  And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven. And then shall all tribes of the earth mourn: and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with much power and majesty.

Mark explains that even the corrupt High Priest Caiphus, who convicted Jesus of blasphemy, will see him:

Mar 14:60  And the high priest rising up in the midst, asked Jesus, saying: Answerest thou nothing to the things that are laid to thy charge by these men?

Mar 14:61  But he held his peace and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him and said to him: Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed God?

Mar 14:62  And Jesus said to him: I am. And you shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of the power of God and coming with the clouds of heaven.

That kind of shoots your theory full of holes, doesn't it?

  8. I don't think anyone around today was alive to see him go into heaven, so maybe no one will see his descent either.

  9. I agree with you :P

  10. Acts 1:9 And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

Acts 1:10 And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them.

Acts 1:11 They also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven."

    -------

We know He is returning. He will return to the Mount of Olives in just the same way which is left.  That which ascends will DESCEND.

Zech 14:3 Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle.

Zech 14:4 In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south.

So, in a visible manner He will return to fight the Nations that go against Israel

  11. Wait a minute ... you're a Jehovah's Witness, aren't you?

    Get away, fiend!
