  1. They never enjoy the present and never see the farsightedness of future.

  2. Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness. When change is absolute there remains no being to improve and no direction is set for possible improvement: and when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

George Santayana  Vol. I, Reason in Common Sense (1905)

  3. Do you agree with it or something?

    I dunno if I do.

  4. dunno but heres a quote 4 you

dont try to be a graet man

let history make its own judgment

    Zefram Cochrane 2071

  5. Goeoge Santayana, and the actual quote is "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

  6. It is those who forget the past! George Santayana

  7. I think it's more that those who don't learn from the past--otherwise, people could choose where in the past they most liked, live as if they were there, and then get to repeat it.  That would be kinda neat, almost like time travel, and it would be interesting to see where people chose to live.

  8. No, "...do not learn from..."   not "live in"
