  1. Sort of true. Yes, it is the belief that Earth is the same now as it has always been. But it's a belief among early geologists, sort of with a religious base. No true geologist now would tell you they believe in unifomitarianism, as it has been falsified through studies of paleontology, paloclimatology, structural geology, etc.


  2. True, sort of. It's more that the same rules that govern our planet today applied throughout time (e.g. gravity, tectorics etc)

  3. False....Uniformitarianism means that earth scientists assume that the processes and phenomena we see today operated the same way in the past.

  4. Not that it stays the same, but rather that all things effecting the earth have always bean the same. as opposed to catastrophists who beleive that there have been many major catastrophies that have effected the earth ( and solar system) in the past.
