Question:

"Unpack" an .iso program with XP?

I downloaded a program for my father-in-law and it's in a .iso... The instructions for installing it say: 1)Unpack. 2)Burn or mount. 3)Install. What does this mean? I assume "unpack" means to "unzip" it-what program should I get to do this? How about "burn or mount"? What program does this? He uses Windows XP so the programs have to be for XP. Any Windows pros please advise. Thanx alot!

  1. If you want to unpack it why dont you use tugzip(freeware). You can download it from www.filehippo.com. For burning or mounting use magicdisc (freeware also). You can download it from http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-m...

  2. You have an ISO file so in order to use this file you need to either burn the file to a disc or mount it to a virtual drive(a cd/dvd drive that is on your computer in the virtual world).

    http://www.slysoft.com/en/virtual-cloned...

this link is for Slysoft's virtual drive and it is free to use. Install this and if needed restart your computer. Set up your settings to have one virtual drive. Now all you have to do is right click on the ISO and then select mount to drive and then you should be able to access it like it was a disc in your computer.

To burn the ISO file to a disc you will need Nero are another burning software that allows you to burn it. Hopefully you have one

  3. isobuster  http://www.isobuster.com/

    Alcohol 120%  http://www.alcohol-soft.com/

With either of these programs, you do not have to burn it to use it.

Alcohol 120 will burn cd/dvd images

  4. The most versatile program is infrarecorder. All you have to do is add the project to the list, put in a cd/dvd, and let it do all the steps for you while you just sit back and watch.

  5. You need a software called "ALCOHOL 120" to read that .iso image. Sorry cannot help in arranging it. Go for a search on google for that.

  6. If you have now an .ISO file, then you can use DVD-Decrypher or Nero to burn the file into a usable CD

  7. Sounds like it is pirated. I would suggest getting Daemon Tools (free).
