This phrase having to do sometimes with flooding seems silly to me. What other level would water seek other than its own? Who can come up with a better phrase in 10 words or less? Thanks.

  1. Water will flow in order to equalize hydrostatic pressure.

  2. Heavy fluids go downward. When there's enough fluid that it can't go down, it creates a flat surface.

  3. Water seeks to level itself.
