Okay so, my I guess ex came up to me today and said, "I think we need a break, it's not what you think, nothing is going to happen, we just need time for things between our families to cool down, so we're broken up but you know we really aren't. We still have a future, it's just we can't be together right now."

I'm really confused on what he means, I mean I KNOW we aren't together supposedly but he wants to make it seem like in our eyes only we're together. do you get what he means by this?

  1. This is my take.

If he really really likes you, he might mean it.

But basically, I think he's breaking up with you.

But might want to get back together. He's keeping his options

open in case he can't find anyone else 'better.'

So just act like your broken up forever. Don't keep waiting

    for him or anything.

Try to find someone else better for you. :]

  2. he means he just needs a break between you guys; you are broken up FOR NOW, but he wants to get back together with you.

  3. He broke up with you. Period. Move on

  4. I would take it to mean he needs time to think and doesn't want you to move on without him, until he says it's ok.  So, what are you gonna do?  Wait for him to let you go, or end it yourself?
