"We have to do what we're capable of doing.” says Los Angeles outfielder Torii Hunter
The Los Angeles Angels right fielder Torii Hunter is now also speaking about his team’s poor and in consistent performances.
He has recently said in the media that, "We're just going through the motions. We have to do what we're capable of doing. That's everybody, not just the players. Winning, When you're losing, there will be tension. Losing is like a disease, it spreads. Winning
cures it."
Hunter expressed his views after the ninth inning defeat from the Tampa Bay Rays. This was not the first time that the Angels’ came out with humiliation instead as they have also suffered five straight defeats from average opponents in this ongoing Major League
Baseball season.
Not only Hunter is worried over the situation, but the Angels’ entire management is also agonised with constant defeats.
The main focal point since the entire management is being put under extreme pressure by the media local is when their star player Albert Pujols started to show his weak and lame hitting since the start of the fresh season.
The main purpose of his arrival which was giving early thrust to the franchise soon caught up with the explanations to the media of his inconsistent performances. He is still homer-less in the season while many questions are being raised now as what was the
real philosophy was behind to spend some $240 million on a player whose calibre is not that huge.
In the meanwhile, despite Hunter, who is trying hard to convince his team that they must unfold their games in order to bring consistency in the results, the Angels’ general manager Jerry Dipoto is still quite optimistic about his team’s chances to bounce-back.
Jerry Dipoto said confidently, "That's baseball, You take 25 people, lock them in a small room together and tell them they're going to travel together, shower together, eat together, play together, work together and entertain each other, you're going to get
some hiccups along the way."
On the other hand, looking realistically, the Angels’ are currently in deep trouble and if nothing improves quickly, their post-season qualification may not be possible.
