It is not pleasure that we derive out of something that is important. The sense of satisfaction or the sense of achievement is so much more gratifying.

It's true to some extent.  I worked hard to get my college diploma and did enjoy it, but can't say I loved it.  

However, the greatest loves (and joys) have come to me unexpectedly.  My husband, my granddaughter, and all 3 of my dogs entered my life when I wasn't expecting them.  They've given me far more love than that college diploma could ever aspire to.
