  1. This is for a scholarship right?  If you can't think of your own answer, then you should let other kids who can think independently give it a shot and sit this one out.  It's dishonest to try to get college funding by getting answers from other people.

  2. Standing by you country through thick and thin against all odds. However, it also means calling her to account when she seems to be heading in the wrong direction. No One, but NO ONE is allowed to get into that fight who is not a patriot thru and thru.

  3. Its respecting your God, your country, and those placed in authority (such as the President) and respecting his position of authority whether you agree with his actions or not.  United we Stand Divided we Fall.

It's holding back tears every time God Bless America is played during the 7th inning.  Placing your hand on your heart during the National Anthem facing the flag and quietly thanking all the brave men and women from 1776 forward that allowed us to remain free and the home of the brave.

Its understanding that no matter what society wants you to think in regard to materialistic gratification, instant gratification, sexual gratification and so on is not whats making this country great because everyone is so privileged to act and speak their minds?  Disrespecting yourself and others is not patriotism, its disgraceful.  It is why this country is failing in a lot of areas...

Its saying the Pledge of Allegiance with pride right down to acknowledging that "under God" we are.

Its feeling pride when you wear a uniform issued by the United States Army, youre 18 and you give everything it takes to prove to the doubters and nay-sayers at home..."she'll never make it past Basic Training".  Ha, I made it 13 years!!!.

It's never letting that flag touch the ground...watching the Honor Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier do changing of the guard in awe.

It's eating Apple Pie, watching Baseball, honoring your mother and father, respecting your elders, holding doors for the elderly and ladies, its being honest, its working hard, its driving a Ford, Chevy, Dodge or Jeep and having pride in what is America and American.

It's getting goosebumps looking at the Statue of Liberty and choked up at Ellis Island- the Land of the Free.

    Its joining the local VFW.

    Its so many things

  4. Loving my country. I always will.

  5. Patriotism is love and respect for your country and demonstrating it - such as flying the flag, getting out to vote, standing when the national anthem plays, putting your hand on your heart to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, celebrating the freedoms we have and trying to make your country better.

  6. To me, patriotism probably has a different meaning to most since in my country sovereignty lies in the people, not in the country, nor parliament nor in a head of state. So true patriotism to me is defending my people (that is all the people residing in my country regardless of race or origin).

    My country is Scotland.
