  1. From an astronomy standpoint, much less light pollution. You have to drive farther and farther to find truly dark skies now.

  2. sunny and blue in summer and spring a bit glummer in autumn but lots of lovely days,  winter well we had a lot of lovely frosty blue skied days, not like now. This is memories of 50 years ago.

  3. Much the same as they are now.

  4. Very different than today-- on a clear night you could see thousands of stars from the city. Streetlights were not on every corner-- neons were few and far between.

Light pollution was not a problem.

  5. Dam*  - Kemmysum beat me to the obvious answer...

The skies were not actually like that because, unfortunately I did not grow up in Arizona.

Mostly they were grey - that's what they look like in England...

  6. omg i still remember it was blue at day and black at night.

    well it still does.

  7. Completely different than they are today, fifty years later. Back then, I could observe the Milky Way and Messier objects from my suburban back yard. Now I've had to move 140 km away from the city to get the same skies. Also, nowadays we have almost constant haze from jet contrails which blocks our view of the skies. This is not just "golden memories": I kept meticulous records of my observations as a teenager, and can make accurate comparisons.

  8. The most beautiful skies as a matter of fact

The sunsets were purple and red

    And yellow and on fire

And the clouds would catch the colors everywhere............

.......And the skies always had little fluffy clouds ^^

  9. Very blue and beautiful.

  10. the same, maybe more stars and less smog

  11. When I was young, I could see the Milky Way in the night sky. Not anymore, though, because of the light pollution.

  12. Black and white.

  13. Ou sont les neiges d'antan?

    The same as today.

  14. cloudy

  15. The same from what I can remember. Maybe a few more stars.

  16. I looked up in the sky

    Where an elephant's eye

    Was looking at me

    From a bubble-gum tree

And all that I knew was

The hole in my shoe, which

    Was letting in water

  17. It was square and before they taught the clouds to float there were bamboo poles everywhere holding them up. The sun wasn't cordless back then so that got tangled up a lot and birds had to walk because the air used to be really slick.
