"Where does all that dirt for motocross and monster trucks shows come from?

Do they bring it with them to each show or do they buy new dirt each time?

I will watch this question as I dont know, I always thought for the indoor shows it was brought in. But whether its new dirt or used  ?  probably New, but thats expensive waste

I will be happy to answer your question. I build the very tracks you are referring to. Clear Channel Motorsports or Live Nation Motorsports,( they change their name just about every other year.) owns the dirt for approximately 90% of tracks in this country. Storing this dirt can be quite expensive, so instead of renting land near venues that are not used very often, or are smaller in size they will make arrangements to lease the dirt from a local construction company. We try to make a 70% clay to 30% sand mixture so that it will remain durable but will not get too hard or dusty.

where ever the event is held at....somewhere they can dig up dirt and use they usualy pick a good soil! like clay...

Generally where I am it is brought in new each time from as local a source as possible as tranporting dirt from place to place would cost way more than the actual dirt itself.  If it was very close they may take some on to the next event if they couldn't stock pile it and some places do tend to stock pile it for use the next time if they have the room and then just bring it back out next race as it takes a couple of days to make a good track (or it does at least where i am).

They tend to use a clay dirt which in some places you just cannot get, as for my sons track where we are (for his own use) we had trouble getting clay as it is a sand area. So you cannot just use any dirt and buying clay costs a lot.
