Question:

"While walking up the stairs." What does this phrase mean?

I don't remember the French words of it. It's a common phrase in French. I've seen it used in a couple of movies. I don't understand why the French find significance in things they observe while walking up stairs. I've actually tried to note what I think of while doing so and mostly I don't think of anything other than trying not to stumble over my own feet while doing so.

  1. Clemenceau (à French politician from the early 20th century) is supposed to have said: "the best moment in love is when you walk up the stairs", which means that expectation is the best of pleasures.


  2. from my point of view, it means the problem a person face when he or she is trying to get to the top or to a higher level. I jsut think so I dont know. Hehe. but if this makes sense to you than cool! gd luck in finding out the meaning!
