The Spanish international has taken out time to downplay the importance attached to the Spanish Super Cup.
Barcelona’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Pique is not very keen on emerging triumphant from the Supercopa de Espana. According to the centre-back, a victory in the two-legged final would give his side a morale boost, however, it is not integral to secure the silverware in it.
The defender discussed that La Blaugrana are aspiring to win greater things in the duration of the next season and winning the Super Cup is unlikely to make any sort of a difference.
Although Barca emerged victorious from the previous edition of the domestic cup, a number of players from their squad have revealed that they are not taking the cup too seriously this time around.
The Spanish Super Cup consists of two sides and determines the ultimate top side in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011. The final is played between the winners of the Spanish La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
If one side manages to win both trophies, the team securing the second place in the Liga BBVA standings is given the chance to play the Supercopa de Espana.

However, Pique has stressed that anything can happen in football and that his side will not be affected by any result that they achieve.
While talking to reporters, the former Red Devil quoted:
"I think that winning the Super Cup would give us confidence. It's a special game against a special opponent and I'm sure it would give us a lot of confidence for the start of the new season, but I don't see it as something crucial. We could win but we could
also lose."
"More than a personal objective I think it's important to set out group objectives. I think that following a good pre-season I'll start the season well. I'm getting a very good vibe. We've had four training sessions and I feel good, without any discomfort."
The first leg of the Spanish Super Cup will be played at the Nou Camp on August 23.
