A male poster posted this in answer to one of my questions.

Is this true? Do women love their children more than men?

  1. No, men just try to teach a different set of values and thought patterns than the mother.

Example- mother playing a board game with a little child, the mother allows the child to win all the time to build self-esteem.

A father does not allow the child to always win to teach the child how to lose with dignity and to keep trying because in order to succeed, you often have to fail at first.

  2. Just in different ways, not more or less.

  3. More, no. Yet, I think that the bond between a mother child is stronger than that of the father and child's. The mother carried the baby for 9 months and went through the worst pain she could go through to get that baby, but she still loves the child as if he never caused her any anguish. I think that they both care for the child equally, it's just that the mother and child have a more intimate bond.

  4. I would say yes.  My husband and I both agree that our kids come first no matter what and even though I love him very much, I would choose them over him.  Same with if we broke up, I'd choose my babies over my bf.

  5. That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard (well, read anyway).  Tell that to kids who are murdered and abused at the hands of their mothers.  Tell that to kids who have been dumped in garbage cans and alleys.

EDIT: I think the poster meant to say that women care about the kids more than the father does.

  6. No, I don't agree with that.

However I do think that mothers are different with caring. I don't know why but it seems that way. I asked a question on here once about what a person takes with them when they leave after an argument with the spouse. Not all the women, but ONLY women (including you) said they took their children with them. Not one of the guys said that.

    Its just different.

  7. That's ridiculous.

I hate to think what sort of parental unit produced that attitude.

  8. You took a part of my answer and placed it out of context. You should post my entire answer to the question. I doubt you will do that.

This comment refers to the mother-child bond that is formed during pregnancy. Mothers are more anxious about the safety and well being of children than fathers are. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maternal_bo...

If fathers didn't love their children, they would run away.

Love- strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties <maternal love for a child>. http://www.merriam-webster.com/cgi-bin/d...

You can clearly see that care and love aren't the same thing. A majority of use have had mothers that make sure we take more precautions than our fathers. This doesn't mean that one loves us more than the other. The care of a mother is from the bond.

  9. No and the male poster sure isnt helping the fathers movement out with that BS.

John as you have no email account....

where did you see this about Tracey? do you have proof, like a link or something?  That seems a like a huge accusation to be following her around with...really should have some thing to back that statement up with.

  10. I would say yes because they tend to spend more time with them. And there is the bond of birth, what man can compete with that??

  11. Funny that I ran across this question today... just earlier I was thinking about all the people I know/hear about who are no longer in contact with their fathers and then I thought about it and realized I don't know ANYONE who is not in contact with their mother. It just made me wonder why that was... I'm not talking about situations where a woman gets pregnant and the father isn't in the picture from the beginning... I'm talking about families where kids stop seeing their fathers from age 8 or so on.... Of course, it seems ridiculous to think mothers care more than fathers and in most cases I do think this is completely untrue. However, I believe there is some extra strong connection between a mother and child because she is the one who held the baby for 9 months and went through the birthing process. This "maternal connection" unites the mother and child in a way the father can never experience. I wouldn't call that extra connection "more love" but it's something special.

  12. Opinions, opinions, opinions.  Do you love any one of your many children more than the other or do you love them each differently because they are different and special in their own way?  This just shows you that peoples perception of love is different.
