"Wrist is doing fine" says Kobe Bryant - NBA Update
Coming into the regular season, the Los Angeles Lakers had lost both of their warm-up scrimmages against the Los Angeles Clippers and on Sunday, they lost to 88-87 to Chicago Bulls, courtesy of a clutch jumper from Derrick Rose
with 4 seconds left in the clock.
To say it was not the start the Lakers and their talisman Kobe Bryant would have wanted would be an understatement. Kobe came into the game with a wrist injury which he had picked up in the first warm up game against the Clips,
while avoiding a fall impact through his hands.
However, once up against the Bulls, the Black Mamba shrugged off the pain and too the game to the men from the windy city. He was the top scorer in the game with 28 points, but it did not end well for Bryant. He was guilty of the
crucial turnover that allowed Luol Deng to pass on the ball to Rose, who knocked down a 9 footer to seal the game.
However Bryant being the ultimate athlete did not blame the injury for the loss and took nothing but positives from the game. After the game, he revealed that his wrist was “doing all right” and admitted that the loss was because
of his own team’s fault.
"Yes, I'm upset we lost the game but I saw a lot, a lot of positive things," Bryant said. "A lot of them. A lot of them. So I'm very pleased. They're one of the best teams in the league and we did a phenomenal job holding them
down defensively. We beat ourselves at the end with turnovers and free throws."
When it came to handing over the ball, Kobe was the main culprit. In total, Bryant committed 8 turnovers in the game; however he was pleased with how the team fought in the court. Lakers dominated most part of the game and held
the Bulls to just 25 percent shooting from the field in the second half.
The defense was in particular immaculate, even without the presence of Andrew Bynum, who is on a 4-game suspension. The Lakers will now take on the Sacramento Kings on Monday and they will surely be looking to cut on the turnovers.
