I am in a class on teaching students with disabilities, and this is the beginning of a homework question we have. I have looked online and in the textbook to try to figure out exactly what this scanning program is. I need to know because I have to explain how to assist the child. Does anyone know what a scanning program in this context is?

  1. there are devices that highlight one letter at a time as a joystick  it tapped-when they get tothe right letter-they somehow click on it...don't know if this is what you are looking for

  2. I am guessing because this never came up once while I was getting my degree (!) but it sounds like maybe the child has a vision problem? Could a scanning program mean the text-reader software that some computers have? What is he supposed to do with the alphabet once he "accesses" it? What a weird way to formulate a question! Sorry I can't be more helpful, hope you get it figured out.
