"Zeitgeist" religious and political film

Question

Anybody out there seen this movie? I watched it last night...way bad idea....now I can't rest peacefully. Just wondering what you all thought of it?

Generally, I liked the whole Idea of spicing up things so people would watch the movie, and really start thinking about propaganda and such.

However, I don't really appreciate the tone  with which the audience was approached (I felt like they were telling me: Heey, stupid, this is how they brainwash you), and I certainly know that some of the things were just spiced-up bullshit, so the brainwashed would wake up from their sleep.

It's definitely a movie I wouldn't brag that I've seen, but I wouldn't deny that I've seen it, either.

I heard it's an extremely controversial documentary that calls for vigilance and the search for truth. I have not yet seen this 2007 film but it sounds very interesting.

I think it's a good movie in the fact that it will get some people to change they way they think about believing everything that comes from the government. Even if not everything presented is accurate, or correct it will get some people to at least start looking into things.

I don't like to think of myself as a conspiracy theorist, but in the last six months or so I've come across Zeitgeist, and other movies that have changed the way I react to things going on in here in the US and the world.

Did you know in 1993 WTC 1 was bombed and the FBI knew it was going to happen but did nothing to stop it. They had an informant that while reluctant to wear a wire was smart enough to tape some call he had with the FBI. Emad Salem is his name if you want to look it up.

Did you know in 1945 the Empire state building was hit by a B25 bomber?

Look at WTC 7 and the fires that supposedly brought it down, there are other buildings that suffered worse fires where their steel structure was still standing despite massive damage from fires that burned upwards of 16 hours. Also, if you feel like doing some hunting WTC 7's collapse was reported as much as 20 minutes early by the BBC news, and a few minutes earely by atleast one FOX station. They, (the Fox station), actually had WTC 7 on their screen while reporting it's collapse only to watch it collapse live after the release of the 'news'. If you look at the 1993 WTC bombing, the 1983 Beirut Embassy Bombing, and the Oklahoma City Bombing and the explosives used in each instance and the fact that those buidings didn't collapse - you have to question the official explaination of why WTC1,2 and 7 all collapsed at freefall speed.  

I would not have wondered about these things if it weren't for films like Zeitgeist, that at least make you want one to search for the truth for themselves instead of taking what's spoonfed to them.

You have good reason to feel unrest. The most pressing one now is the North American union.

North American union is a stepping stone to one world government. Look around the world at the other unions, European Union, Asian Union, African Union. Are we naive enough to think North America will be spared? Zeitgeist's warning about one-world government is absolutely correct at its core.

Learn about the Council on Foreign Relations. It wants one-world government. Read its publications about North American integration and global governance. It is uncanny how often CFR policy transforms into exact US foreign policy. That is not by coincidence. Money buys power. The elites behind one-world government have purchased enough politicians to succeed.

How often does the media even mention the CFR? Not often and that is telling. The media suppresses the NAU news because it (the media) is owned by CFR members and NAU supporters. If you search Canadian web sites, you will learn that at least one media mogul has been lobbying the Canadian government to move ahead more quickly with the Amero currency. Bet that is happening here too but behind closed doors.

Beware of propaganda from web sites owned by mainstream media where that is not obvious. One such site is WWW.HOWSTUFFWORKS.COM. Look up who owns it, and who owns its parent company, and who owns the parent-parent company. Keep going all the way up to the top and you will find CFR members and people supporting global government.

Likely unwilling participants in one-world government are [1] the American people, and [2] the regimes of the Middle East. That is where 9-11 fits in. 9-11 (producing substantial gains for the one-world government stooges)

[1] convince Americans to willingly accept a reduction in the very civil liberties that were designed to protect us from oppression

[2] an excuse to invade the Middle East to install submissive governments and control the oil

[3] breaking our economy to increase the likelihood of our peaceful acceptance of North American union and a new currency

We must press for a new investigation into 9-11. Failure to re-investigate will allow the non-Arab criminals to remain free to pursue their treasonous agenda which will cause the end of our democratic society. That is a task for tomorrow. Today we must press our congressmen to get behind HCR40. The bill will go nowhere with only 48 cosponsors. Whether there are enough patriotic politicians to see it through remains to be seen but right now its our best shot to put a stop to the things you learned of in the movie Zeitgeist.

This film is not worth losing any sleep over.

I consider it to be an intellectually dishonest documentary, not because of the filmmakers personal bias, but because of its disregard for the truth. There is so much questionable statements that can easily be refuted, or controversial points that have legitimate opposing views that should have been presented.

- Regarding part 1: Jesus

The "Mythology of Jesus" theory was an obscure and generally dismissed theory.

It has gained exposure due to author "Acharya S" and her collaboration with the Zeitgeist filmmaker. (She is also author of the films companion guide)

- Regarding Part II: 9/11

It should be noted upfront that being skeptical of the 'official version' of anything presented by the government or media, is a good thing for society. And it should also be noted that questioners of 9/11 'offical versions' range from genuine intellectual pursuits of greater truths, to bizarre interpretations specifically intended to support a unwavering point of view.

The Zeitgeist filmmaker is part of that spectrum that has bought into the theory that the government orchestrated the whole thing. Unfortunately the evidence they selected and presented was sloppy and much of it easily disproved, even by members of the Truth movement. (I've heard some speculate this may have been a red-herring to discredit the 'truth' movement).

- Regarding Part III: Men behind the curtain

As a liberatarian, I found this part to have had the most potential in exposing abuses of government and men in power. Instead, it trots out tired long disproven conspiracy theories.

"Income Tax law Doesn't exist" theory - Very stale. Consistently disproven over-and-over again. No new information, just new victims going to jail that fall for these arguments. Very sad.

"Federal Reserve System is owned by international bankers" - Still a common conspiracy theory. Still wrong. The Federal Reserve System, is headed by the Board of Governors, a Government Agency (look it up - http://www.whitehouse.gov/government/ind... ). The Federal Reserve branches can definitely be considered tightly regulated corporations owned by their member banks, all of which must be American-owned by law. It is receives regular audits, and is overseen by congress.

There are those who defend the film because they believe that agenda+motive is more important than truth. There is a certain irony here since the films overarching thesis is to be wary of those who would obfuscate the truth in an attempt to persuade others to their point of view.

Zeitgeist religious part has some truth. Its conclusion (no Jesus) doesnt hold up to scrutiny.
