  1. I can't think of any tips right now, (I'm kinda sleepy..lol) but here is a website that gives you step by step instructions on how to apply foundation, and they also show you how to pick the correct shade, find out what color undertone you have...ect.

    Good Luck!

  2. Liquid? Used a brush, apply the amount on the top of your hand and brush on a little at a time. Brush down, (not up and down, just DOWN) it follows the small hairs on your face and helps it to appear more smooth. Make sure it is all blended. If you have an olive skin tone stay away from foundation with a pink base, you will see lines on your jaw bone.

Overall, I'd stay away from liquid foundation, try bare minerals, its the BEST way to go. It works miracles!

  3. The best foundation application tips are as follows:

    1. use a foundation primer.  I happen to prefer Smashbox's PhotoFinish.  It's not cheap but it will make a huge difference.

    2. If you use a liquid foundation use a foundation brush which will make the application smoother and will enable you to cover hard to reach areas - right under your eyes, etc.

    3. If you use a powder, make sure to go down rather than up.  Down goes in the direction of your facial hair - which is not seen - this will give a smoother appearance.

    4. Don't forget to put on some blush right on your "apples."

    5.  I've been using a little shimmer at the top of my cheekbones to make my skin glow (see any photos of Jennifer Lopez and you'll notice what I'm talking about.)

  4. If it's liquid, put a bit on your hand and use a brush to apply it to your face and then use a slightly damp sponge to even it out and make it neat.

  5. Put a little foundation on the hand(add a complimentary tone if necessary).Dot it over the face-on the nose, the cheeks, the chin and the temples and in between the brows.Using the tips of two fingers or a small clean, dampened sponge(from which excess water has been removed) blend the foundation.Always work from the face outwards, to avoid an accumulation of the foundation around the hairline-move from the cheeks to the ears, from between the brows down over the nose, from the chin out towards the jaw, then onto the neck.Work quickly, carefully and lightly.Blend well around the hairline, on the neck, below the eyes and behind the ears. Also take the foundation over the eyelids. Finally blot the face with a clean dry tissue, pressing it lightly over the skin.

  6. Use a foundation brush - it helps to blend and you don't have to put as much on because the brush spreads it out evenly - giving you more of a natural look.

Also, when putting on the foundation do it in an upwards moment - it makes you look perkier.
