i a dont want a myspace but is there a website where i can have a cool personilized page and chat with people like myspace but safer?

facebook and others are like myspace but none of these sites is going to be "safer"

if you put personal information in the public internet, you are putting yourself at risk no matter what. myspace gets the biggest bad rap for this by being so popular but its true of anything, anywhere, you are essentially putting up a billboard on the freeway that is all about you. keeping that in mind is the only way to be safer on the internet.

having said that, these sites do offer privacy options (like hiding your profile from anyone you haven't added as a friend, only allowing friend requests from ppl who really know you, etc.) and parents should ensure that their children take advantage of these, if they are to be allowed on the sites in the first place.

I don't use it myself, but it lets you have your own personal page like myspace, and change the backgrounds, so it's worth a try i guess
