I want to import some oolong/green/white tea from Taiwan/Asia, sell them online in UK. I know a little about tea but don't have much idea about the market here, can anyone give me any advice? Is green tea popular in UK? What sort of flavor Brits love? What sort of price range i should aim for?

Thank you very much for your time! :oD

  1. maybe you can contact with  me. i have some friends in china!

    my MSN:trade9shoesa@hotmail.com

  2. i love green tea but there is so much green tea already available on the market in the uk you would need to find something really special and then you would have a market, do some research and find an usual flavour that you can't get in supermarkets and then you will be guaranteed customers

  3. try to link it to Amazon too - I search for anything and everything I want to buy on Amazon first

I think bloom teas are pretty cool now.

Brits like English Breakfast and Earl Grey.

  4. Green tea isn't very popular for the British. Most people think it's too bitter or don't bother since it's brewed differently from the regular black tea usually used here. Green tea is already sold in supermarkets though so most people will buy it from there if they buy it at all.

  5. im a brit and i dont like green tea nor does anyone i know a few girls at gym drink it to help them lose weight but i know they dislike it too.

earl grey takes nasty and takes some getting used to the upper class people do earl grey.

we like p g tips and tetley, where they have master tea tasters to make sure the tea is perfect.

i feel you would be wasting your time importing tea's that no one really interested in,you'd have to give a lot away for free to educate people on it.

  6. Look at the websites, grocery stores and specialty shops to see what kinds of teas are already available at what prices.  You have to know  a LOT about tea to produce a website that will sell teas.  How do you know how good the tea is if you are not an expert in teas?  How will you write descriptions of your products if you don't know a lot about teas?

Either spend a few years learning everything there is to know about tea, and sell teas as an expert on unusual and distinctive teas, or leave the business to Twinings and the many other well-established names who have been selling tea for centuries.
