  1. It is imported from other places.  Often ponds are stocked by people for fishing.  Boats are dragged from lake to lake, bringing plants.

    But oops! --Curiosity is right --marine means sea, which means salt water not man made ponds.


  2. You wouldn't find marine life in ponds or lakes because marine life is found in salt water or brackish water.

    Perhaps you mean freshwater organisms.

    As Mark said, many of these bodies of water are stocked.  However, frogs and some other amphibians will find their way to the water to lay their eggs.

  3. Marine life does not develop in ponds or lakes.  Those are freshwater not salt water.  Man made lakes are called reservoirs.
