"how far is it (in hours) from Corpus Christi, Texas to Mexico?"?

Will be visiting Corpus Christi and wondering if it is worth driving to Mexico for shopping, dining, etc.

ok, not that it is super far, and the road is nice and all, but matamoros is not the greatest place in the world.  lots of industry makes the air kinda bad.  not much to do in matamoros.  if you wish to got o loredo/nuevo loredo....i suspect it is more of the same, but farther away.  

the interior of mexico is great, but so many of the boarder towns are not.  if you were closer to mexico, or you were near a smaller town with some character and such, i could recommend it to you.  in this case, don't bother.

I wouldn't bother.  The only place I would cross is at Ciudad Acuña and go to Ma Crosby's, etc, but that is too far from Corpus.

2 1/2 to 3 hours. I have done this drive once and it is 4 lane highway.
