  1. there can be a range of 6-12 players on a volleyball team but only 6 on the court at a time

the positions change due to your coac hbut usually

    setter(middle front)

    opposite hitter(rigth front)

    server and passer (right back)

    libero or defensive specialist(middle back)

    passer(left back)

    outsied hitter(left front)

  2. the #'s range from10 to 12 on club teams and 16 to 18 4 school teams but u can have 6 on the court at on time the basic positions are... bumping, setting and spiking these are in the front and then serving back right, defensive specialist back center, and another defensive specialist on the left back

hope this is what you needed

  3. there are six

                     left front               middle front                      (setter)

                     back left               middle back                  (server)

  4. The number of people on a team varies, but a basic number is usually 12 so the team can scrimmage itself and has enough subs. A team usually includes:

Two Setters/ Right Sides (Opposite Hitters, Right Outside Hitters, or Back Hitters)

Two Right Sides (Opposite hitters, Right Outside Hitters, or Back Hitters)

Four Left Hitters (usually called Outside Hitters)

Two to three Middle Hitters (Middles)

One or two Defensive Specialists (DS's or possibly Libero's)

These players play middle back: backrow for middle hitters

The court positions are set up like this:

    4     3     2

    5     6     1

Six players play on the court at a time, two of each position (Right, left, middle) and play opposite eachother (i.e. position one: setter, position two: outside hitter, position three: middle hitter, position four right side hitter, position 5: outside hitter, position 6: middle back (DS or libero)

Setters set the ball (assist hitters to hit and get kills) and can set from backrow positions or frontrow positions

Outside hitters, middle hitters, and right side hitters in front row positions (2, 3, 4) hit the ball for kills and block

Outside hitters and right side hitters in the back row positions (1, 5, 6) play defense and pass the ball, and when they pass through position 1, serve.

Middle hitters are generally categorized as the worst passers on a volleyball team, so the libero position was created. The libero can go in for any player, but is usually subbed in for the middle hitter who would rotate into the back row. Libero's are only allowed to play backrow and were not allowed to serve before this year. The libero is generally the best passer on the team.

    Hope this helped! Good Luck!

  5. There are 6 players that play at one time, but usually volleyball teams consist of about 8 players.

    The positions:

    -setter(s)

    -hiter(s)

    -back row

    -libero

Not all teams will play with positions, some rotate, so everyone can play every position.

Also, differant teams have differant ways they set up the court, like some may have 2 setters, or 3 hitters.

It is kind of differant every time.

    hope this helps :]

  6. front and back

    setter

    server

    spiker

  7. there are 6 players on the court

there can be as many players on the team

    -left front/outside hitter/blocker

    -middle front/ middle hitter/blocker

    -right front/ setter

    -left back/ other setter

-middle back/either a libero or middle

    -right back/ server

  8. There is many different positions it depends how your playing like at my school. We play 2-5.  There are 6 players on your side of the court.  In the front row there is a setter, left hitter, right hitter and D hitter.  Then in the back there is just two bumpers to get the ball to the setter one might me the la barrel.  And its all so a different set up if your serving and receiving but the main way people play is 2 hitters in the front and the setter and 2 bumpers in the back and one bumper kind of in the middle.

  9. there are 6 players on the court at a time

positions are -setter -2 outside hitters -3 back row when the other team has serve but when your team has serve there are 2 backrow and 1 serving

    -1 middle hitter

    hope i helped

  10. There's six players on the court AT A TIME, but you can rotate in pretty much as many as you'd like(usually theres only two or three extras). Theres also a lebrero. They rotate in for any back row position. Some dont serve, some do. It depends on your team and level.

    The ohter positions are:

Middle- I think you can figure out where theyll be. If in the front row, they spike. Back row, they bump/set it.

Setter- For front row their on the right, back row, on the left. While in the front, the players in the backrow pass it to the setter so they can set it up for the spiker.

Outside- Front row right, back row left. In the front row they can normally bump, set, or spike. If the setter sets it too far for the middle to get it, the middle can call "help" and the outside can spike it. In the backrow, they just bump(or set).

    Hope this helps :)

  11. OKAY,

so there are six players on the court.

    4            3            2

    5            6            1

The person in 1 is serving,

    2 is setting

    3and4 are hitting,

    5and6 are passing,

  12. well there are 6 players on the court at a time and at least 4 more on the bench but the numbers range ...on the court you have right back and rightside (hitter) either of wich can be the setter, you have middle back (usually the libero or a DS) and Middle hitter, and you have left back and the outside hitter...thats it!

  13. on my travel team there is 9 and on my school team there is 16 so it just depends.it depends on their position.like if they r a hitter and they hit outside then they would be an outside hitter,if they hit and they play backrow they would be a backrow hitter.

  14. on the court, there would be 6 players. There are,

    setter (middle front)

    middle back/right/left

    spikers/hitters which are middle left/right

  15. _______  (net) - there are 6 players on the court set up like this:

                                                             4   3   2

                                                             5   6   1

These numbers are the serving order of the people on the court.  (1 serves first then it rotates to 2, 3, and so on). After the ball os served the players in these spots go to their base (the position they normally play).

1-   In base this would be the setter (when she's backrow).

2- This is the right side hitter/blocker (RS). this person is in the front row.  They are sometimes called the offsetter because they set the ball when the actual setter can't get to it.  Typically they don't get as many kills as the outside hitter or middle hitter because the backset requires a good pass and is harder than the other two options.

3- Also a front row player this is the middle hitter/blocker. Definitely a huge part of the offense of the team as they are involved in every block.  This is typically the tallest person on the team or the one who jumps the highest.

4- This is the front row outside hitter (OH) also a major part of the offense responsible for a lot of the kills.  (My favorite position)

5- This is your backrow outside hitter who makes up a large part of the defense as most balls are hit cross court to their area.

6- Perhaps the biggest part of the defense, this is the lebaro or middle back.  If your team plays with a lebaro this is the person that switches in for the middle hitter when she rotates into the back row.  This person is responsible for defending the entire back line (deep court) and generally is the smallest person on the team and one of the best passers.

  16. There is 6 people on a team playing at once. There is a server, a setter, 2 hitters, back row is usually passing and usually anyone in the front row can be a blocker.

  17. well, only 6 can be on the court for 1 team at a time. there is setter, 3 backrows, middle, and outside hitter. some of the people during a volley can move around to other positions (but it as to b legally) and then there can be a right side hitter also. on some teams there are liberos (but that isnt a position thats a specific person designated to backrow)
